Face Lift (bottom/full face and with neck)

What is jowl?
Before giving detailed information about the jowl aesthetic procedure, it is useful to explain what jowl is. The jowl is the part located at the bottom of the chin and at the beginning of the neck. The fat layer in the jowl area may sometimes increase or the skin on the jowl may loosen. In this way, the jowl takes on a much more prominent shape and this situation causes aesthetic concerns in many people.

There are many different causes of shape or image disorders in the jowl area. As a result of the loss of the flexible structure of the skin in the jowl area, the structure of the chin and neck of the person, weight gain and excessive fat accumulation, the appearance of this area may deteriorate due to the accumulation of fat in the jowl.

What are the Causes of Jowl Sagging?
The jowl area usually begins to sag in the periods when the person’s age progresses and the skin loses its tension. However, sometimes this situation can occur in people who are not older. Excess weight gain and lubrication of the neck area are also important factors in sagging jowl. Before the chin aesthetic operation is performed, the main reason for the jowl sagging that occurs in the person should be determined. Thus, the most appropriate method will be preferred. The most common causes of jowl sagging are:

In some people, jowl sagging occurs due to hereditary reasons. Some people may experience excess water retention or fat storage in the area between their chin and neck. In addition, the congenital weakness of the jaw structure is an important cause of jowl sagging.
Advancing age is another cause of jowl sagging. In older people, the skin loses its old taut and elastic appearance. Thus, the skin in the chin area can drop itself down and cause sagging.
Excessive weight gain and fat. After a while, the foods consumed in excess accumulate in our body and turn into fat. Although the areas where lubrication is seen vary from person to person, chin sagging is usually encountered in people who are overweight and have lubrication problems.
What is Double Aesthetics?
Double chin aesthetics is a procedure whose main purpose is to correct deformities in the jowl area of the face and décolleté. For this purpose, excess fat tissues in the jowl area are removed from the body using the liposuction technique. If the sagging of the jowl is caused by the sagging of the skin on the neck, the skin in question is stretched during the operation and the neck area of the person will have a more aesthetic appearance.

It is possible to compensate for various deformities, bruises, sagging or wrinkles in the face area by applying make-up. However, such methods do not work for sagging in the jowl area. Correction of the shape of the jowl area is only possible thanks to jowl aesthetics.

For Whom Is Double Aesthetics Performed?
Double chin aesthetics can be applied to people who are in their 20s. While the most common reason that pushes young people to have jowl aesthetics is sagging of the jowl, which is caused by lubrication, chin esthetics is applied mostly due to the loss of elasticity of the skin in older people. At the same time, sagging in the jowl may be more pronounced in people with a small chin structure compared to normal.

People who have aesthetic concerns about the jowl area and do not have any health problems that will prevent the aesthetic operation can be performed. In addition to jowl aesthetics, neck lift can also be applied to older people. Thus, the person has a younger appearance and feels better.

Is Double Aesthetics Permanent?
Double chin aesthetics is a permanent and non-repeatable aesthetic type as long as the person pays attention to his/her lifestyle. In order for the operation to be permanent, the person should pay attention to weight gain. Because if the person gains excessive weight after having a jowl aesthetic, this may cause extra lubrication in the neck area. In addition, the skin may lose its initial elastic appearance due to aging in people who are older after jowl aesthetics. Except for such cases, there is no need to repeat the jowl aesthetics.

How Is Operative Double Aesthetics Performed?
Today, with the development of technology, the success rate in jowl aesthetics has increased significantly, as in other aesthetic operations. There are multiple options for the person who wants to have chin aesthetics about how the procedure will be done. Which technique and method to be applied is determined according to the wishes of the person, his/her health status, and the structure of his/her body and jowl region.

Liposuction is often used to remove fat in the jowl area. By using the liposuction method, the excess fat tissues accumulated in the jowl area of the person are thrown out of the body and the area between the neck and the chin has a more aesthetic appearance. During this procedure, local anesthesia is used to make the person feel as little pain as possible. General anesthesia is not required. The duration of the liposuction operation is approximately 40 – 45 minutes.

Unless there is a contrary situation after the procedure, the person does not need to be hospitalized and can rest at home after a short rest.

In some people, the only reason for the visual disturbance in the jowl area cannot be explained by lubrication. In these cases, the person’s jaw structure is examined. Because the small jaw structure can be a reason for the appearance disorder in the jowl area. In these cases, fat removal alone is not enough. In the operation, fat tissues taken from the person’s jowl area are injected into the tip and edges of the chin to enlarge and clarify the structure of the chin. In cases where the chin is much smaller than normal

However, oil injection alone is not a solution. In these cases, a bone implant may be required.

Tickle lift surgery is usually applied to people over the age of 50. The main reason for this is that the skin loses its elastic structure and becomes softer in people over this age. In people with this condition, the skin tissue on the chin droops and creates an uncomfortable appearance. For people in this situation, removing only the fat tissue in the jowl area is not a solution. Generally, both the fat tissue should be removed from the person and the chin lift surgery should be performed. At the end of this whole process, the flabby and loose skin between the person’s chin and neck is stretched towards the back of the ear. In this way, the neck area of the person gains an aesthetic appearance.

How is Non-Surgical Double Aesthetics Performed?
Medical jowl aesthetics is a method used by people who do not prefer to have surgery. The biggest difference of non-surgical jowl aesthetic procedures compared to surgical procedures is that they are not permanent. There are more than one method applied in non-surgical jowl aesthetics. The first of these is monopolar radiofrequency waves called Thermage. Thanks to these radio frequencies, heat is given under the skin in the jowl area and it is aimed to tighten the area.

In addition, it is possible to get rid of negative images in the jowl by using ultrasound. During the ultrasound process, sound waves are directed on the jowl and the fat tissue in the area is reduced by these sound waves.

Another medical jowl aesthetic technique is mesotherapy. With mesotherapy, sagging and looseness of the skin on the jowl can be eliminated. However, this process is done in more than one session and it can take about 2 months to give full results. At the end of the process, the fat tissue under the jowl melts and the sagging disappears.

Although non-surgical chin aesthetic methods are easier to apply, they are not always preferred because they are not permanent. The person should repeat the process at certain intervals. This is not the case in operated jowl aesthetics. As long as the person does not experience conditions such as excessive weight gain or excessive aging, he does not need an extra operation.

What Should Be Considered After Double Aesthetics?
After the chin aesthetic operation, the person should use the drugs prescribed by his doctor and sometimes the necessary creams without neglecting it. The person should follow the rules of hygiene and prevent excessive weight gain by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Local anesthesia is generally used in chin surgery. People who have chin aesthetics with local anesthesia are discharged soon after the operation and they do not need to stay in the hospital.

After the aesthetic procedure, the patient should not do things that will tire himself, should not lift heavy loads and should rest a lot. People who use methods such as Vaser Lipo and laser lipolysis should wear a specially prepared corset after the operation. Mild pains and discomforts that patients may experience disappear about 5 days after the procedure.

If the person feels mild to moderate pain, he can use various painkillers. People who have swelling or bruising in the jowl areas after the procedure can apply cold to the area or use any cream that is beneficial for bruising. After the operation, serious side effects are very rare, but if the person feels intense pain, he should contact his doctor immediately.
