Eyelid droop can also be seen on the lower lid
While eyelid drooping can also occur in the lower eyelids, it can also appear with simple bruises, further deformations starting from wrinkles and combined with cheek area sagging. Upper eyelid aesthetics vary from just skin removal surgery to the spectrum combined with brow lift.
How is eyelid surgery done?
In cases where only the skin needs to be removed, the procedure can be performed with local anesthesia, or in cases where it is combined with eyebrow surgery, general anesthesia may be needed. The procedure is performed under sterile conditions and it takes approximately 45 minutes to intervene on both upper eyelids. When performed under general anesthesia with brow lift, the operation takes approximately 1.5 hours.
After eyelid surgery
It is possible to be discharged on the day of the surgery. After this surgery, which is performed by suturing, very thin tapes are adhered to the sutures and the eyes remain open. Although stitch scars are seen at first, the scars disappear within a few months. Surgery on the upper eyelids together with the lower eyelid aesthetics provides a younger, dynamic and beautiful face appearance. General anesthesia is needed for the operation of the four eyelids. The duration of the operation lasts approximately 1.5 hours, and at the end of the operation, the eyes are left open as the eyelids are dressed with thin bands. Since the lower eyelid is cut just below the eyelashes, there are no suture marks. After an average of 4-5 days, the sutures are removed according to the healing status. Slight swelling is seen and recovered for 3 weeks after the surgery. The bruising lasts until the stitches are removed after 4-5 days. However, since the bruises and scars depend on the skin structure, it may vary from person to person.
Satisfactory results are obtained in patients with this surgery, which provides a more vigorous, younger and dynamic eye area and facial appearance after the operation.
